Losing the Peace

Task

You will investigate from a variety of sources the failures of the Treaty of Versailles and the League of Nations. In groups of four, you will each analyze different original sources and prepared resources in order to determine how humanity lost the peace in the wake of the First World War. You will individually write a short (two page) essay explaining your findings in the failure to secure a peace, and then work together to create a twenty minute presentation on how we can learn from the failures a century ago, in order to attempt to secure world peace today.

This presentation can be a Power Point, Prezi, Keynote, or other form of digital presentation of your choosing, but must incorporate the failures of the Treaty of Versailles and each of your suggestions on how to better attempt world peace in the present day, taking into account modern problems and political issues. This will prepare you for the world awaiting you after your time in school, when the subject of war and peace becomes important in your daily social and political lives.
