Discovering the Milky Way

Today you will be discovering information about our galaxy and solar system fits. You will be going thru the links I've provided and will make a video of your journey and what you have learned by using your snipping tool to take pictures. The pictures will be used for making a video in movie maker where you will add commentary. Your final product should be a 2-3 minute video describing your journey with pictures and commentary from the websites provided. You will also make a PowerPoint that asks 10 questions of the alien.

Action steps

1. Your partner will be chosen randomly by myself using the "Hat" app.

2. You will first have to become an expert by following the links provided and research what we currently know about the solar system and galaxy.

4. Take pictures and notes using the snipping tool or camera feature on your computer. Use notepad to take notes as you go. Add pictures to a folder on your desktop.

5. Make an instructional video using  screencast-o-matic and PowerPoint.  Include ten questions to ask the alien about his galaxy. Be prepared to answer questions about why you asked the questions you did. Why you think they're important questions to ask.

6. Make a five question quiz to assess the aliens knowledge from your video. You may use Kahoot or Nearpod to produce quiz.

7. Provide links to both products in appropriate folder on my teachers page.

8. Present products to your class and alien.
