Giving to Your Community
Task
First, you will research organizations that give back to your community and help make it a better place. You will make a list of five different organizations you found in this area or an area of your choosing. You will make note of what they do or contribute. You don't have to choose organizations you approve of. You can also choose organizations you don't like. At the bottom of your list you will write about your favorite organization and your least favorite organization. Explain why you do and don't like them and be specific.
Second, you will break into groups of five and you will come up with an organization of your own that you think will benefit YOUR community the best. You will have a mission statement that explains what your goal is and why. You will need an original name and a process by which your work is done. All this information will be put together in a Power Point presentation that you will present to the class. Please assign an area of content to each person and they will be responsible for their portion during your presentation. Get creative!
