Native American Tribes in Tennessee

You are a historian working at the National History Museum.You need to travel back in time to visit and learn about Native Americans inthe state of Tennessee . You will work in a team of six historians. Each teamwill be assigned one local tribe to become experts on. You will create a briefsummary with explicit details to share what you have learned about the tribesin your region. There are six major tribes that were a part of Tennessee. Youmust be very precise in your writing about the tribe you are researching. Thetribes are: The Cherokee tribe, The Chickasaw tribe, The Koasati tribe, TheQuapaw tribe, The Shawnee tribe, and The Yuchi tribe.  Each historian in your group will become anexpert in one research area with 100% accuracy. The areas of research are:tribes and geographical features; food and hunting; shelter and transportation;clothing and technology; customs and traditions.

In addition to your summary, each historian will draw anartifact that they found interesting in their research. This may be as creativeand out of the box as you may want it to be. Just as long as it has anythingthat relates to your tribe. You must be prepared to explain the importance ofthe artifact and how it relates to your tribe. Teams can be extra creative andcan come up with a group drawing of different artifacts that relates to theirtribes.

These drawings will be hung out in the hallway for theschool to see.
