Comparing Opposites

1. The first task is two complete the reading of both books. This will be done throughout the semester. As a class, we will read both books. The reading will also be assigned as homework and then a literacy circle will take place the next day. Copies of each book will be checked out by from my personal library.

2. While reading, you will be responsible for keeping a "diary". In this, you must write about the events in each chapter. The twist for this is, you  must write your entires in the perspective of another character in the book. Each entry should be at least one page long. 

3. After finishing the book, you will find a partner to do the project. The project will include: a question and answer session with a character from the book you are assigned, a compare and contrast radio show/ tv show of the books, and written letters to the authors. 

4. All items listed above will be presented in front of the class on a designated presentation day. 

5. Finally, at the end of the unit, you must turn in the your diary, the questions and answers from the interview, a partner evaluation, ans the script from the radio/tv show. 

6. We will send the letters to the authors as a class.
