Task

I am so glad that you decided to help me today. I need your help now more than ever so I can remember all the aspects of the American flag! For this, there are a few things that you need to do. To make this easier, I broke the task into steps. Let's start from the beginning:

Step 1. You will receive a paper from your teacher with a list of questions that you will need to know in order to help me with my problem today.

Step 2. You will use the website links under the "process" section to find the answers to these questions.

Step 3. Next, you will write me a letter using the correct letter format to tell me about the American flag. This letter will include what the flag stands for and what the stars, stripes, and colors (red, white, and blue) mean.

Step 4. This one is for fun! Lastly, since I saw the American flag in a new form today (last time it only had 13 stars) I would like you to experience this! You and a partner need to make a new design for the American flag. Together, you will need to use one piece of paper that your teacher will supply you. Here's the catch--you have to use 50 stars, 13 stripes, red, white, and blue. However, you can add one more symbol onto the flag. The symbol can represent an aspect of this country that you think is important and is something that all other countries should see. For example, for my flag I would use honesty and I would make up my own symbol for honesty. Let's get your creative caps on and create some awesome new flags!
