The visible spectrum is the part of light that we can see. To remember the colors of the visible spectrum you should remeber this: ROY G BIV. This represents RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, GREEN, BLUE, INDIGO, VOILET. Without light there would be no color. When the colors of the visible spectrum are being reflected the color you see is white. When the colors of the visible spectrum are being absorbed the color you see is black. The energy of the light is being absorbed and this is why you feel warmer when you wear black clothes.
