African Biomes

Task

20130509103153Hedah.jpg

In groups of four you will research your assigned African Biome. You will need to look at the criteria under "Process" and assign each group member specific topics to research. To maximize your time you don't want every group member researching the same thing at the same time. Breaking the information up between group members will help you with presenting the material as well. Every group member will need to talk during the presentation so if they have a "specialty" and do the research for one area (for example: the animals found in your biome) they should be able to present this topic for the group. It will be your responsibility to collect quality information online pertaining to your biome.

Steps to follow:
1. Read through the entire webquest as a group
2. Assign group members specific jobs and research areas
3. Collect your information in an organized manner (Remember to use the research organizer as well as make a list of the sources you gathered information from)
4. Collaborate as a group, discuss your findings, help each other, then put all the information together
5. Create a PowerPoint of your biome of at least 8 slides (Presentation should be about 5 minutes with a maximum of 10 minutes)
6. Practice you presentation: What do you want to say as a group? Who is going to say what? Help each other out! Make recipe cards or notes on a paper to bring up with you when you present.

At the end of the project and after the presentation you should have a good understanding about your biome and a general understanding about other African biomes.

The Biomes being researched are:
1. Tropical Rainforests
2. Deserts
3. Savannah (grasslands)
4. Sahel (scrub and shurblands)
5. Chaparral & Mediterranean
6. Alpine (highlands, plateaus)
