You will be given a set of questions that will guide you through the origins of the ideas for the park to the actual opening of Central Park to the public in 1865.Each group will answer the questions.Then the group will consider the question that \is being proposed which is: Should  New York City help deal with the financial problems it faces by charging people who want to use the park an annual fee?What will happen to those who cannot afford it?Is the idea of green spaces in the city for all no longer a necessity in 2013?Each group will write a letter to the editor of the NY Times supporting their point of view.
