Day Seven
Description: 1. Quiz on the structure of the eye, how we see, and what it means for you to be nearsighted. 2. Peer evaluation. 3. Teacher evaluates and summarizes the project.
Day One
Description: 1. Complete mini-lesson about the structure of the eye, how we see an object, what causes near-sightedness and how to correct near-sightedness by using concave lens. 2. As a group visit the websites and watch the videos provided to learn how we see, how our eyes become nearsighted, and how to correct nearsightedness.
Day Two
Description: 1. Using the websites and videos provided, as a group, compare and contrast the three choices for nearsighted vision correction: wearing glasses, contact lenses, and undergoing a laser eye surgery.
Day Three
Description: 1. Finish research on the three choices for nearsighted vision correction: wearing glasses, contact lenses, and undergoing a laser eye surgery.
Day Four
Description: 1. Create a PowerPoint presentation based on data gathered from previous days.
Day Five
Description: 1. Create a pamphlet that summarizes the key points of your presentation for the students who suffer from nearsightedness.
Day Six
Description: 1. Present PowerPoint. 2. Debate between the groups as to why your group's choice for vision correction is the best.
