In order to understand the novel To Kill A Mockingbird, it's important to look at a number of historical events/periods that played an important role in the development of the novel. As you know, each of you has been assigned a group number. For this assignment, each group number will be assigned a topic as follows:

1) Biographical Information on Harper Lee, author of To Kill A Mockingbird

2) Jim Crow laws.

3) Race relations in the 1920s.

4) Race relations in the 1930s.

5) The Great Depression.

On the toolbar to the left, each group will find a tab with their group number. YOUR TASK IS THIS: Under each tab, there is a list of resources that I want your group to investigate. Your group will be summarizing the relevant information and sharing it with the class in some manner. You will have one class period to go through the resources and summarize the information, and another day to create and practice your presentations. After two days, we'll be taking an entire class period to listen to each group's presentation and discuss your findings. For questions regarding how this assignment will be graded, refer to the "Rubric" tab to the left. Before you get started, go to the "Process" tab to the left and get a step-by-step explanation of what I'm expecting you to do.
