Exploring Dialect

In order to better understand the issue that will be heard before the school board, you are going to participate in a mock hearing. First, in groups of three, you will assume the position of a community member who has a stake in the school board's decision. Then, upon completion of your designated WebQuest activities, your group will put together a speech and/or multimedia presentation to present at the school board hearing, expressing your community member's thoughts on the presence of language variation in academic settings.
