So let's get started.....

Task 1 will focus on distinguishing between facts and opinions.  Your job is to be able to critically examine information that you find.  Is it true?  Is it fact?  Is it opinion?  Follow the steps below to find out.

1.  Click on the "Infinite Learning Lab" weblink below.  Be sure that the volume on your computer is turned on!  Watch the video and follow the instructions.  When you are finished, return to this page for the next activity.

2.  Click on the "Questions to Ask Yourself" weblink below.  These are questions that you should consider when trying to find the answer to ANY question.  You may wish to make a note of these questions in your Science Journal for use in the future.  When you are finished, return to this page for the next activity.

3.  Click on the "Knowing the Difference" weblink below.  Read through the information and examples provided on determining fact from opinion.  You may wish to make a note of this information in your Science Journal for use in the future.  When you are finished, return to this page for the next activity.

4.  You may be surprised, but many students have a difficult time distinguishing between fact and opinion!  Let's see what you've learned so far.  Click on the "Fact or Opinion" weblink below.  Following the directions, click on the bubble beside each fact.  When you are finished, click "Get Score".  Then, print this page (only click the printer button ONCE!!).  You will need to turn this in with your name at the end of class.  Once you print your results, return to the WebQuest (go to Task 2).
