The Venice traveller
As you probably already know, Venice is a sinking city; so you will also need to find out information about the building structure of the city. Moreover, its not a place for cars or other private means of transport. Its the only European city and one of the few in the world to have its public transport located entirely on the water. So youll have to investigate about how people get around in the city. Use the links to find information and answer these questions:
City of Water is one of Venices names. Find 3 other names for the city
Find 3 touristic sites in the city
 How are its buildings constructed?
What means of transport can you find in the city?
The Florence Traveller
Who established the city; and when?
Who occupied the city during one year in the World War II (19431944)?
You will also have to find five sites and historical places to visit in Florence. In your document, you may want to include historical sites, churches, museums and sculptures.
The Pisa Traveller
Piazza dei Miracoli is the name that was created by the Italian writer and poet Gabriele d'Annunzio for the square where, along with the Leaning Tower, there are 3 other white marble structures: the Duormo (cathedral), the Battistero or Baptistery and the Composanto (also known as Campo Santo).
As the Pisa traveller, your job will be to find out historical information about these sights from the Square of Miracles:
When did the building on the tower start; and when was it finished?
 How high is it?
 Why is it leaning?
The Duormo:
When was it constructed? To which Age does it belong?
 What shape is it?
The Battistero or Baptistery:
 What shape is it?
 How high is its structure?
How long did it take to finish its construction?
Camposanto:
What was the function of this building?
How many doorways has it got?
 How many chapels?
Which era do these walls belong to?
Whats the best way to explore the walls?
