The Process
“Learn from our mistakes…”   “History repeats itself...”   “Hindsight is 20/20…”
We can learn a great deal from the voting and polling data of recent presidential elections.  since you may not have been watching 12, 8, or even as recently as 4 years ago, it is necessary that you collect as much information to see what factors have influenced past elections.
1) It is necessary to review as many of the websites listed as possible, so that you will have a clearer understanding of how our election process works and how certain demographic groups have voted.
2) Take notes by copying and pasting (into Microsoft Word) major data points or areas of interest.  Pay particular attention to any trends you may have seen from one presidential election to another.
3) Feel free to develop your own guesses as to whether the trends will “hold true” in 2008, or if changes to the political landscape make previous trends obsolete.
