Creating an Entry Level Resume

Steps to complete assignment

  1. First, gather important information.
    You will need your contact information: name, address, phone number, email. You will need your past employer's contact information if applicable: name, address, phone number and email You will need your reference contact information.  A reference is a person who likes you and will say kind words about you if a potential employer calls them. You should have THREE! Do not use relatives as references.
  2. Check out the TEMPLATES tab to the left. You may quickly and easily complete your resume and cover letter by using one or both of these.
  3. Save your resume to your school account or your thumb drive or both in the following format: last name_first name_resume.doc.
  4. Review the cover letter writing process. Write your own cover letter. Save it to your school computer and/or thumb drive and print it out.
  5. Complete a job application.
