Discovery 3: Colonizing the New World

Remember the tasks you must complete BEFORE you are able to being your colony:

1. Choose a reason for departure
2. Name your colony
3. Name your ships
4. Create a flag
5. Select supplies
6. Determine a starting location

Before you complete each task, take time to research what the original colonists did. Learn from their mistakes and success. If you do, your colony has an increased chance of success. If you do not, your colony may suffer terrible tragedies.

Feel free to locate and use additional materials beyond what I have provided you in the resource portion of the WebQuest. The more information and knowledge you have the better.

Finally, remember that no matter how well you plan, Mother Nature and Lady Luck have far more to say about your success than you think. Be prepared for the worst and hope for the best.
