Day 1

Your Assignment as a Volcanologist

Directions  Refer to your volcano packet. You are able to complete pages 1 – 2 today! The first observation is at the foot of the mountain. This is what your Mayor observed and why he is in a panic. You videotape the mountains movement. This is what you observed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6V_7mepMEgY Click on the X to close screen once you make your observation.

Make your observations and write them in your science journal. Use descriptive words to describe what you see and hear. Imagine that you are right next to this location. What does it feel like? What could it smell like?...etc.

Your investigation takes you to the internet. You record the types of volcanoes by researching the information provided. Once you have read and found the information you need, you journal and document your findings. Hint scroll for your information and read the desired sections.

Websites: The following websites will help you find the information you are investigating about. Read the sections carefully; then write your answers in the packet. You do not need to visit every site to find what you are investigating. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwBVG0Si7rs After viewing the video clip, click on the back arrow to get to back to the webquest.
