The first step is to buy a cube for yourself. I would recommend thecubicle.com which has a wide variety of not only rubik's cubes but all sorts of different puzzles.

The next step is to learn the actual process of solving a cube. For this I would recommend Solvethecube.com which has a highly detailed tutorial with images included to help.

For people who learn better using a video then I would recommend a video from the youtube channel Wired which has a very high production value and is taught by someone who has recently learned so they are able to explain it well. 

once you get learn the basics then a very helpful resource would be the subreddit r/cubers which has a very large variety of resources from other people around the internet and also a userbase who can answer more specific questions.
