Your first assignment: Create a musical instrument
Go to www.nancymusic.com under the link "activity pages" you will find directions for making 8 different instruments. You can make one instrument or you can make all the instruments listed, but most importantly, HAVE FUN!
Your second assignment: Pretend you are in a marching band
Begin by standing in place. Next march on spot 1,2,3,4. Repeat a few times and then stop. Pick up your instrument and shake or play 1,2,3,4 (similar to marching). Repeat a few times then stop. Now, march and play your instrument at the same time (hands and feet together). Begin to move around the room. Do this a few times and stop.
Final assignment: Maintain a steady beat and rhythm throughout song
Return to www.nancymusic.com. On the "activity pages" link there is a section of songs to use with rhythm instruments. Most of the tunes are familar. Enjoy!
