Lesson 1.


Step 1: T. makes a ppt presentation about comic books and defines: what a comic book  is; the characteristics of this genre; parts/constituent elements of a comic book; draws Ss's attention to new voc. items (Panel, Gutter, Speech Balloons; Thought Balloons; Pointers; Bubbles; Title; Credits; Captions; Sound Effects). (15 min)

Step 2: T. divides SS into groups of 4-5 . T hands them prepared quiz. SS discuss and do it in teams. (10 min.)

Step 3: Feedback on step 2 (10 min)

Step 4: 1 representative from each team and choose the characters (5 min). Ss read comic book and role play (15 min.). 

Step 5:Feedback  on step 4 (5 min).


Lesson 2.

Step 1: T. makes a ppt presentation about the genre peculiarities of comics. Defines some new lexis necessary to write story line: beginning, culmination, ending, antagonist, protagonist. (15 min)

Step 2: Ss work in teams and do quizz. SS discuss and do it in teams. (10 min.)

Step 3: Feedback on step 2 (5 min)

Step 4: Teams try make an outline of their stories. Teams decide, whether they develop a new story line or convert a fairy tale or some other literary work into a comics. They decide the form of comics.

Step 5: Ss consult with T. and receive feedback.

Lesson 3. 

Ss make displays on the walls of the classroom. T. walks around the room and sees the Ss creations, listens to their explanations. Gives feedback to each team. Ss mingle and check other teams comic books as well. 

The end of the project.
