Day one:  Watch the video :  Safe Web Surfing: Top Tips for Kids and Teens online. 

1.  Now turn to a friend, and share and discuss two things you learned from this video.

2.  Go to  Student Journal and answer the question for Day One on your own.

Day two:  Watch these videos:

2.  Go to the student journal and answer questions for Day two on your own.

Days three and four

You are to build a cyber-bullying machine/robot or creature. Every part of this creature will havedifferent parts that represent a positive ways to cope with cyber-bullying. An example might be:

  • A Thick shell or skin - that does not let rude words in

  • A reflective shield that blocks/ reflects and reportscomments.

You may include anarmy of sidekicks - these are creatures that assist the Anti-Cyber bullyingmachine. What do they do to support him (e.g. implant lots of loud speakersover their mouths to let people know about the bullying etc.

This project will be done in groups of four where each group member will have a distinct role in building the robot.  The groups will be chosen by having each student count from 1 to 4, and then all the ones will form a group, and all the twos and so on and so forth...

The roles within each group should be chosen consensually by the group members.  Each group will have a builder, material gatherer, researcher, and a reporter.

Builder:  This person will be in charge of building the robot.  He/she will be responsible for the drawing, coloring, gluing and transforming the information that is given to him/her into an artifact.

Material gatherer:  This person will be in charge of collecting all the material necessary for building the robot.  He/she will be responsible for gathering all the supplies and tools needed for the project. Basic material such as  card board boxes, colored construction papers, colored markers, glue and scissors will be provided.  Any extra material deemed necessary by the group members will be the material gatherers responsibility.

Researcher:  This person will be in charge of collecting all the information that is related to preventive tips and measures on defending against cyber-bullying.  He/she will be responsible for reviewing the resources that were provided ,(Videos, journals and poster) and reporting back to the group.

Reporter:  This person will be in charge of presenting their project to the class on the last day.  He/she will be responsible for explaining each of the robot's functions and the rational for choosing it, to the class.
