The Language of Art

Now that you have completed the task you are ready for Process portion of this webquest. Please read the directions below very carefully. You may use colored pencils, markers or pastels for this activity.

1. On page 2 of the Webquest Packet you will label each section with one Element of Art.
2. On Page 3 of the Webquest Packet you will label each section with one Principle of Design.
3. Return to Page 2 and create a pattern or design that relates to, or is guided by, that Element. For example, in the section labled value you could create a value scale with lines or pattern, or in the section labeled color you could fill in with a pattern of colored lines.
4. Return to Page 3 and create a pattern or design that relates to, or is guided by, that Principle. For example, in the section labeled contrast you could draw shapes of contrasting color.
