Second, read Freedom on the Menu by Carole Boston Weatherford

Third, write reflection paper in which you become a character from the book.  Be sure to include emotions, struggles, and accomplishments.   Be sure to include the atmosphere and setting as you describe the event taking place.  http://wordcentral.com/

Fourth, use resources provided to research important people and/or events in the Civil Rights Movement. You may use this website http://library.thinkquest.org/J0112391/civil_rights_leaders.htm to research civil right leaders or see attachment to view other research sites.   Create a poster that includes:

-an illustration or picutre of the important person which includes birth date, death date.

-a small paragraph giving important details of the event which can also include an illustration of the event.
