Process
Task 1: Learn terms of poetry and how to read it aloud.
a. Print out the Poet's Packet.
b. Visit How to Read Poetry and answer questions in your packet on how poetry is read.
c. Visit BRAIN POP to watch a short video on poetry. After completing the video, take the quiz.
Task 2: Research and respond to different forms of poetry.
a. Visit Jack Prelutskys website to read and respond to two of his poems.
b. Visit Shadowpoetry to read and respond to the different forms of poetry listed in your Poet's Packet, and read about three famous poets.
Task 3: Create a variety of poems using examples from your research and your own experiences.
Task 4: Design a presentation using one of your poems, music, and pictures using Movie Maker.
