Process

1. You will be working in groups of 3. If you end up in a group of only 2, then you  will divide the research and jobs needed for the 3rd geological event.

2. Each member is responsible for researching one of the 3 past geological events that have occurred here in Michigan:  1. glaciation   2. volcanism   3. shallow seas

3. You may use the "Under Michigan" book  (very helpful especially with times for the geological events ) but also the online resources  (some are provided below).

4. The following information is needed for each event:
            a.   2    natural resources resulting from this event
            b. Approximate time (Era and period) the geological event occurred
            c.  Specific location(s) of natural resources  (city or county NOT country)
            d. Explanation of how each natural resource resulted from the event
e How each natural resource is important and how it affects Michigan's local economy

5. As a team you will then create a hangable display that presents information the group gained  from the research -   Be creative !!

On your display,  not only does the research element need to be included but also
--a map of Michigan            and
--an interactive element (I will give you some examples)

In the evaluation tab (to the left) you will find a rubric which will be used for evaluating your final product. Refer to it throughout this process!!
