-You are to research the websites that have been chosen, beginning with the Background Information.
-Take note of some of the websites to go back to later.
-After you read through the Background Information, you are ready to move on to Step 2: Role in the partnership - an essay and a final presentation need to be developed. Decide what each of your roles will be and create a plan of action. 
-You will have two-three weeks to complete this project. There will be one-two days to present. Pairs will be chosen randomly to present, please be aware and prepare yourselves.
-Remember that this is a persuasive project. Part of persuasion is Creativity.

Step 1 - Gathering Information
These websites are very informative. They are designed to give you information that lead up to the war, events that happened during the war, and what happened at the end of the war. You are not required to read and research every website, however, keep in mind that most of your information will be found on these sites.

Step 2 - Roles
Within your pairs you will assign each member a job. Keep in mind: Both members are responsible for all material. Cooperation and Creativity are important parts of this project.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Read through the websites. You are evaluating the key decision to enter into war and the moment that war was waged.

2. You will become the key decision maker in this war. Will war be waged or not? Will Colonial America remain Patriots or Loyalists?

3. Take notes while researching, Make sure you write down the URL (The web address), so that you can use proper citation (giving credit) at the end of the project.

4. Make sure that all research is geared towards the Main Objective: Convincing your fellow classmates that you have the best plan for the country. Patriot or Loyalist?

PATRIOTS

Patriots, you are convincing us that we should wage war on Great Britain. Are you going to take the view of Benjamin Franklin, Mercy Otis Warren or Samuel Adams? Use all websites at your disposal. Do not forget that each of you has an individual role as well.

LOYALISTS

Loyalists, you are convincing us that we should not wage war on Great Britain. That we should remain loyal to King George III. Are you going to follow the thoughts of Thomas Hutchinson, Jonathan Boucher or Lord Dunmore? Use all websites at your disposal. Do not forget that each of you has an individual role as well.

Now that you have done your research begin putting your paper and presentation together. The Main Objective is to sway ALL of the other students that your argument is the best decision
