Process
For this project, you and your partner(s) will complete a couple of steps together, and then the final step will be all you!
First, you must choose a partner (if the class is large, this can be a group of three). Next, you must decide what your purpose will be. If you are in a partnership, one student will be the navigator (drives the computer) and the other student will be the recorder (writes down the information found). If you are in a group of three, the third role will be the facilitator (keeps everyone on task, solves disputes, helps with problems). You may change roles, but please stick to one role per day.
Now on to the work.
Process 1: Do your research and find the information you need to complete the handouts. Use the sites provided below.
Process2: Look over your research, and do some analyzing. What can you infer about the values of the people of ancient Greece? Also, what were possibly some norms (standards of proper or acceptable behavior) of the society? What specific behaviors were rewarded or punished? Fill in the graphic organizer provided with your partner, each of you filling out your own copy. Then, on your own, write a paragraph comparing today's values and norms with those you have discovered about ancient Greece through the study of mythology.
Process 3 (Individual work): You will create your own god or goddess based on the values and norms ofour culture. Use the organizer provided to help you focus yourthinking. Then, write a myth about your god or goddess and create an illustration.
