Make Your Own Touch and Feel Book

Process

Introduction: Have you ever made your own touch and feel picture books? If not, it is your first time to do the project. Let's do it together. Have fun!

1) Encourage children to have 3 groups and five persons in each group.  

2) Photocopies of the drawings and descriptions are attached.

3) Display the objects on the table. Review the name of each object by asking:
Do you remember what this is?

4) Introduce the concept of “Touch and feel”.Touch the objects one by one and say

slowly.

5) Invite the children to touch the objects to get the feelings. Encourage them to repeat the adjectives while they touch.
6) Get the drawings and show them to the children. Say:
     Now we make our book.
7) Ask them to mach the objects with the drawings. When the matching is completed, ask them to “cut”the objects and “paste”them onto the pages.
8) Ask the children to find the appropriate drawing for each description. Stick each “description”on a white paper and put the drawing next to it.
9) Arrange all the papers in a book format, for example:

Bind them and prepare a cover.
10) Ask the children to go through the book, color the drawings.
Now the book is ready to be read and is made by the children【children's name】.
