The Town and the Country

Step 1.   Your teacher will put you in groups of 2 or 3.

Step 2.  Take a look a the graphic organizer your teacher will give you.  In your group talk about what you know already about the town/city and the country.

Step 3.  Watch this video "Town and the Country Mouse".  Talk in your group about what the mice like and don't like about each place.  In the graphic organizer write  some things you see in the town and some things you see in the country from the video.

Step 4.   Watch this video about a big city, New York.  While you watch it, write some things you see in the graphic organizer under Town/City.

Step 5.  Watch some videos about living on a dairy farm.  While you watch it, write some things you see in the graphic organizer under Country.

Step 6.  As a group talk about which place you think is the best to live.  Each person will decide where he or she wants to live.  Write about it individually.  "I want to live in a ____ because..." 

Step 7.  Have a class debate.   In your group defend which place is the best to live. The teacher may have you change sides.
