An Adventure to Space
Process
1- The teacher will introduce the topic for the students. Together they will share background information during a brain storming session.
2- The students will watch videos about the Solar System " Planets and the solar system for children: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5mgTBkDaCs " and " The Solar System song :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZ-qLUIj_A0&list=PLE107F166493EA624 "
3-After watching the videos, the teacher will divide the students into groups. T
Task 1
4-You are assigned to collect the information needed to fill out your chart ( available in the resources tab).
Task 2
5-The teacher will provide each group with their planet.
6- You must prepare a model of the planet. .
7- To prepare a model of your planet, you only need modeling clay. Each group should meet on Monday to built their planet.
8- After you finish your model and your chart, you must present it to your classmates providing its characteristics and locate it in the appropriate order in the solar system that is available in the classroom.

10- Students must write a passage to explain why Pluto isn't a planet anymore using this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqX2YdnwtRc
due on Friday.
11- Students then should solve the following worksheet and submit it in class due on Friday: http://www.enchantedlearning.com/subjects/astronomy/activities/findit/qsolarsystem.shtml
