What you will need:

-Grill utensils and gas/charcoal
-Ground beef sirloin
-Herb butter
-Hamburger buns
-Any desired topping and condiments
-Cooking thermometer

*NOTE: Purchase meat quantities to satisfy your cooking needs. It's strictly up to you.

STEP 1:

Start with ground beef sirloin for the best taste.
Pat the meat in your palm GENTLY to form a disk shape
(too much agitation of the meat will bruise it, giving it a tougher texture, so do not play with it like clay).

STEP 2:

Press in the center of the patty to form an indention.
Place a small piece of herb butter in the indentation and fold the patty over to seal it shut.
You are now left with a round burger, with a small piece of herb butter sealed off in the center.

STEP 3:

Using the grill of your choice, follow your manufacturers instructions to clean, prep, and bring the grill up to the recommended temperature of 350*F.

STEP 4:

The grill at this time should be ready to accept your burgers, place them evenly on the grill, DO NOT move them around, leave them alone. (If not, they may stick and break apart)
Cook the burgers for 5-7 minutes on each side FLIPPING ONLY ONCE and without squeezing them. You should spend about 80% of the cooking time on the first side.
When you begin to see the burger bubble and sweat, it's time to flip.

STEP 5:

Before removing burgers, use the cooking thermometer to verify internal temperature has reached AT LEAST 160*F for medium-well 170*F (per USDA) for well-done.

STEP 6:

You may now decorate your burger with the ingredients/condiments you find desirable.
