Mardi Gras
Process
Phase 1 - Students will be presented with material about the history of Mardi Gras. Students will discuss this information in a small group setting. Students will create their own group PowerPoints about the Mardi Gras. The students will have a 5 slide presentation to make. Each slide will address the 5 W's. Who, What, When, Where, Why.
After reviewing how to make a power point, students will be given computers in each group. Each group will chose a person to make the power point on the computer. Each student in the group will come up with the information for their slide. One student will have who, etc. After creating their power points, students will present them on the Promethean board to the other groups.
Phase 2 - Students will present their power point presentations to the class. The teacher will evaluate those slides according to a rubric. The rubric consists of: addresses the 5 w's, neatness, collaboration.
