  1. Day one: On the first day you will tackle the First of the five factors of the collapse. You will read and review the CIA Facebook Link listed on the introduction page as well as review the history of nations, and State department links. The question you will ask yourself is how did the U.S. relate to Zimbabwe historically? How did our actions or lack of actions lead to the collapse? Did sanctions play a role?  Formulate a thesis as to the role the U.S. played in the Collapse of Zimbabwe and write a two hundred word essay detailing your conclusions.
  2. Day Two: Today you will begin to review Zimbabwe from a historical perspective. Review the History of nations, Zim Institute, ans CIA fact book links to receive an overview of Zimbabwe history. Ask your self these questions: What role did imperialism/Colonialism play in Zimbabwe? Did it influence the collapse? Did the changes from Rhodesia to Zimbabwe help or hurt the country? What countries historically influenced Zimbabwe the most? Write a two hundred word essay that details your conclusions
  3. Day Three: Today you will be looking at Zimbabwe from a Civics standpoint. Review the resources Cato institute, Zim institute links to view what role civics plays in Zimbabwe. Ask yourself are the people of Zimbabwe civic minded? Does the government emphasize civics? Could greater emphasis on civics changed the collapse? Write a two hundred word essay on your findings.
  4. Day four: Today we will address the geographical issues that influenced the collapse of Zimbabwe. Review The CIA fact book, Us state department, history of nations and zim institute web links provided on the introduction page.  Ask your self did the geographic location of Zimbabwe play a role in its collapse? How has their location influenced their decisions? Create a list of ten geographic factors that influenced the collapse of Zimbabwe. Then draw and color a map of Zimbabwe, labeling all the major cities. Then create a map key that lists the ten influences and the locations in the country. After this assignment, you will break into teams of four students each to share and review your findings with other students. this is a time when you can proof read each others work and share your conclusions.
  5. The final day of the web quest. Review all of the resources previously used and then watch the "Gold for bread" video. What economic factors played a role in the collapse? Why did these economic events occur? What historical economic factors played a role in this collapse? write a two hundred word essay detailing your findings.  On this final day you will take your previous essays and combine them with today's to create on comprehensive essay on why Zimbabwe collapsed. you will include an introduction and a summary as well as your four sections of essays. The final paper must be one thousand words. Include the Zimbabwe map with your submission.
