1. Research Report


     Prepare an information report on a chosen inventor and his/her invention.

       -search for information from the internet, library or other sources

       -choose an inventor that impress you most with his/her invention

       -prepare a report for your findings

       -share your findings in groups


                  The report should include the following


                        1. Title e.g Thomas Edison and his invention

                        2. Introduction

                            -the background of the inventor e.g. when he was born, major incidents in his life

                        3. Body

                                -what problem did people in that period face
                                -what inspired the inventor to create such invention
                                -how did such invention tackle the problems people faced
                                -write about the invention process. Was it smooth? Did the inventor succeed at the beginning?
                                -when did such an invention become popular?
                                -How did such invention affect the people's lives?


                         4. Conclusion

                                 -Why did the inventor and his/her invention impress you most among all the others?
                                
                                 -Anything you can learn from the inventor?


2. Written Advertisement


      Prepare a written advertisement in group.

           -divided in to group of 4

           -come up with an invention with your groupmates

           -prepare an A3 poster as an advertisement for your invention


           Be careful of what type of information to be include in a poster
 
             -Title
             -Functions
             -illustrations
             -other important information

           *Don't forget to use persuasive language in your advertisement.



3. Commercial


      Your group will be preparing a TV commercial based on the written advertisement.


        -each group has 3 minutes for the commercial

        -assign role to each other within your group evenly

        -15 minutes preparation time

        -after the presentation, your classmates may ask you questions about your invention.

 
          *you may prepare a script prior to your performance for rehearsal (the script will not be marked)
