Cinderella: A Personal Narrative Webquest

Students will be organized in groups of three for this project.

Each group will:

1. Read three of the following Cinderella stories:

• Cinderella by the Brothers Grimm (1857)

• Tattercoats (an English version)

• The Annotated Cinderella (the original Perrault version)

• The King Who Wished to Marry His Daughter (a Scottish version)

• The Hidden One (Native American version)

• Yeh-Shin (Chinese version)

2. As you read, make notes about what seems believable about this story, and what is not believable.

3. Discuss what you don't believe with your group.

4. Discuss which story seems most believable.

5. Discuss whether you believe that Cinderella is a victim or part of the problem herself.

6. Discuss what Cinderella might have learned from this experience.

7. Be prepared to share your arguements with the class.

Each student will:

1. Write Cinderella's story from her point of view.
   
2. Turn in your story in the Cinderella Tales drop box in ANGEL by the end of the week.
