Process

20120418084621HuMaq.jpg

Step #1 (Individually):
Look through some of the video clips to choose a habitat.  Select your 1st and 2nd choice and report to your teacher. (Remember the World Animal Laboratory needs research on every habitat so you may not get your first choice!)

Step #2 (Individually):

Select an animal that lives in your habitat to research.  Each member of your group needs to research a different animal.  Use the resources below to find information on your animal.  You should be using the internet, encyclopedias, and non-fiction texts to help you.  The World Animal Laboratory has some guiding questions to help you find what you need.  The questions are also below.  You will be writing and publishing a multiple paragraph research report about your findings.

Step #3 (As a team):
As a group you will be creating a presentation about your habitat on the computer to share with your classmates and parents.  You will be explaining how your animals relate to each other and the habitat you chose.  It should include information on the ecosystem and related food chains or webs.  You will be using print, images, and videos to teach your classmates what you learned.  See the attached guidelines below to help you on your way.

Step #4:
Your teachers will be evaluating the work you did for World Animal Laboratory individually and as a team. You can look at the requirements under the Evaluation tab.  Thanks for your help scientists.  We couldn't have done this without you!
