Good luck!
Step 1.
You will be divided into three groups named "Earthquake", "Flood" and "Avalanche". Be enthusiastic! Be a useful member of the team! Remember, your mark is not the only thing that depends on your work, the whole school counts on you!
Step 2.
Watch the videos and read the materials referring to your topic ONLY. Here you should work with the links attached at the end of this section. Read the names of the resources carefully. Watch the time! Be attentive and do not rely on your memory only, take notes! A worksheet will help you. It is among the attached files. You can fill it in online, but it will be more convenient to work if you print it out.
Step 3.
Go further. Study the online newspapers, TV and radio channels. Try to find the reports on your topic and look for the mistakes people tend to do in these extreme situations!
Here are some of the links you may use:
www.bbc.com
www.cnn.com
www.thetimes.co.uk
Step 4.
Delegate one person to visit the Security Training Teacher of our school and ask him/her for the advice, useful tips and basic rules! Take notes!
Step 5.
Look through all the notes you have got. See if that is enough to make the presentation that would lead a person to survival. If yes, bravo! If not, do not waste time: appoint one member of the team to look further and start working on the materials got.
Step 6.
Write a scenario that will help you to act out the instruction how to survive in a natural disaster. Have the rehearsals!
Step 7.
Make a colourful comic strip with the survival instructions! Draw, take pictures, add origami and 3D shapes! Do not limit your imagination! The more people you can reach, the more people will survive!
Step 8.
Make a survival kit. Use a bag of a team member and fill it with the models of the things you really need to have in a perfect survival kit.
Step 9.
Check! Check! Check!
Check all the components of the result of your work: presentation, comic strip, survival kit.
Go to the EVALUATION section and read the criteria that will be used to assess your work.
