Day 1

Governments of the World
1) On a separate piece of paper and using the internet and the CIA World Factbook define the key words.
2) Watch the YouTube video on Limited and Unlimited governments.
3) Read the Passage on Types of Government and answer the questions on the same paper you wrote you definitions on.

Day 2

Limited and Unlimited Governments
1) Use these six types of government: theocracy, dictatorship, republic, monarchy, democracy, and anarchy.
2) Research and complete the chart the teacher gave you about limited and unlimited governments using the CIA World Factbook. Sample chart located below in the Resources section.
3) Pick one country for each type of limited government.

Day 3

Limited and Unlimited Governments
1) Pick six more types of government of your own choice.
2) Research and complete the chart about limited and unlimited governments using the CIA World Factbook.
3) Pick one country for each type of unlimited government.

Day 4

World Economics and U.S. Political Parties
1) Read the PDF about economic systems of the world and answer questions on a separate piece of paper.
2) Watch the BrainPop video about U.S. Political Parties and complete the Political Parties worksheet located below in the Resources section.
3) Enrichment Map Activity: Using the internet look up a 2008 election map and color in the map that the teacher will give to you.

Day 5

Wrap-up Activities

1) Group project - you will use the charts that you created individually to create as a group a chart or other creative way to present the information you have learned on a large piece of paper. These will be displayed in the classroom. You need to include your answer to the Essential Question -What are the main differences in the different types of governments.
2) Take quiz over types of government. The quiz is located in the Quiz tab.
