The Awesome Weather!

Part 1

Follow these steps in order to complete part 1 of your webquest on weather and climate.

1. Print and complete the weather "know and want to know" sheet.
2. Print the Weather Book .
3. Click here for information from  Weather Wiz Kid.  Read the 1st 4 sections in bold print:  What is climate?  What is our climate system?  What is weather?  What causes weather?   
4. Click here for information from  StudyJams and watch the "Weather and Climate" video 2 times.
5. Take the quiz until you get at least 6 questions correct.  You can always rewatch the video.  Have a classmate look at your score and record your score in your book on the weather and climate page.  Your classmate needs to write his/her name on the sheet next to the score.
6. Write a definition for the word weather and a definition for the word climate in your weather book.

Part 2

Follow these steps in order to complete part 2 of your webquest on precipitation.

1. Click here for information from Weather Wiz Kid.  Click on and read the winter storms and rain and floods links.
2. Click here for information from StudyJams and watch the "Clouds and Precipitation" video 2 times.
3. Take the quiz until you get at least 6 questions correct. You can always rewatch the video. Have a classmate look at your score and record your score in your book on the cloud and precipitation page. Your classmate needs to write his/her name on the sheet next to the score.
4. Draw and label a picture for the 4 precipitation words (rain, snow, sleet, and hail) in your weather book.

Part 3

Follow these steps in order to complete part 3 of your webquest on weather instruments.

1. Click here for information from Weather Wiz Kid . Click on and read the weather instruments, temperature and wind links.
2. Click here for information from StudyJams and watch the "Weather Instruments" video 2 times.
3. Take the quiz until you get at least 6 questions correct. You can always rewatch the video. Have a classmate look at your score and record your score in your book on the weather instruments page. Your classmate needs to write his/her name on the sheet next to the score.
4. Look at the pictures and labels of the 5 weather instruments in your weather book.  Write a sentence for each instrument explaining what it is used for. 

Once you complete your research on weather, climate, precipitation, and weather instruments , work on an extension project.  Follow the directions on the last page of your weather book.  You can gather information on your topic from the weather books we have in class.  Have fun!
