Your paper must contain all the following information:


1. Describe the Early History of your country.
     a)  What was happening in its early days?
            (In other words... What was happening before the Spanish arrived?
              If Spain is your country, what was happening there before it was recognized as a country?)

2. Explain when your country was formed.  Be sure to give the particulars of its formation.
     a) Did it form because of a marriage? When? Between whom?
     b) Did it form because of a war? When? Who was the war between?
     c)  Did it form for another reason? When? Explain the reason.

3.  Was your country ever invaded and/or taken over by another country?
      a) Who invaded?
      b) What was the reason for the invasion?
           1. Money?
           2. Religion?
           3. Power?
           4. Other?

4.  Independence Day(s)
     a) Did/does your country have more than one independence day?
          1. What is/are the date(s)?
     b) Was your country invaded/taken over more than once?
          1.  If so, what are the dates?
           (If there was only one invasion/take-over, there will be no need to restate that here.)
     c) What day(s) does your country actually celebrate as its Independence Day(s)?

5.  Describe two (2) different important historical events of your country.
     This can include wars, treaties, discoveries, natural events (tsunamis, earthquakes, etc.), marriages.
     Be sure to thoroughly explain the event: You must document names, locations, and explanation(s)
     of the historical event.
     If you are not certain that an event would actually qualify as an important historical event, check with
     Sra. Guerra before you include it in your paper.

6.  Using at least one (different than #5) example, note how your country is
      affecting/influencing the rest, or another part of the world today.
      This can include trade agreements, commerce, products (foods, natural resources, or
      generated items), etc.
