Part 1

1. Review the summary and background information depicting The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. Recall and list all of the play's occurances in each of the five stages of plot using the interactive ReadWriteThink web site.

2. As a group fill out the plot outline with the key points. Print it out and turn it in to the teacher.

Part 2

Now, you are newscasters, field reporters, a witness, or a guest commentator for the Tiger Pride Morning News. Your first assignment is to write a news script to be presented to the class telling of yesterday's Julius Caesar murder which took place at the Senate by a wealthy group of aristocrats who were supposedly his friend.

Remember: You must tell Shakespeare's version of Julius Caesar's assassination in an interesting, modern way. Group members must present the factual side of the events that have taken place and provide a commentary analysis of Mark Antony's and Brutus's speeches that follow the assassination (given by the news anchors).

1. Review the sample Julius Caesar newscast. **This recording is just a sample and should not be copied.

2. Use the News Script Worksheet to write out  both the audio and video for your newscast. Group members must act out the news script in which they write. Be creative. Watch some newscast videos or inspiration. For example, the news anchor could go to the field reporter during the newscast to get and eye witness account from the plebians/commoners who actually heard Brutus and Mark Anthony's speeches justifying the act.

3. Choose another classmate (not a group member) to record your performance using the group's digital camera.

 4. Upload these performances into Windows Movie Maker and save it in class Dropbox under JC Project folder. You may edit the performance and add music if you wish. **You may dress up, use props, use music, use backdrops, etc. BE CREATIVE & HAVE FUN!
