Canoeing Down the Mississippi River

1.You will be assigned to a team of 2 people per canoe.

2.You and your partner will be researching the Mississippi River for your employer MAR Travel.

3. You will create a journal along the way. For each state you will include in your journal at least 3 photos/graphics and 5 facts that are either historically or scientifically significant. You must include one map for each state displaying the location of the Mississippi River. Use the journal template for reference which you can download from the process page. Also, review the rubric on the evaluation page to see how you will be graded.

4. Before you leave each state, you will contact your employer using the blog located at: MARtours.blogspot.com In this blog you will report at least one interesting fact that is not mentioned in your journal about why tourists would especially like this state. You may also include anything interesting that happened on the voyage from the last location. Obviously these entries cannot be made on the same day. You are, after all, traveling by canoe! Remember to be creative.

Time and Distance Calculator - This website will help you to determine how long it will take to travel through each state's section of the Mississippi River.

Track the River - This site will help you find out the states that the Mississippi runs through, as well as give you some valuable information about each state.
