Step 1:  Using the internet, find a  story of a surviving Jew from WW2.


      Step a) Click on the following link:

     Step b) Select a story of a surviving Jew from the Holocaust. 

     Step c) Print the story and stick it into your journal. 

     Step d) Using a highlighter, highlight the parts of the story that are most impacting to you. 

     Step e) On the corresponding page of your journal, write why the parts you have highlighted have       impacted you personally. 

     Step d) Using the Harvard Referencing System (see resources), references any sources you have used.

Step 2: Write a journal entry from the perspective of a Jew in a Nazi extermination camp. (500 words).

     Step a) Write a journal entry from the perspective of a Jew in a Nazi extermination camp. You must write in first person. You can be a child, man or woman. 

     Step b) Type it on a word document, print and then stick into your English journal.

     Step c) Using the Harvard Referencing System (see resources), references any sources you have used.

Step 3: Present to the class a 6 minute oral presentation, including the reading of your journal and other historical facts & information about the Holocaust.


      Step a) Download the pdf attached to this page on 'Tips for presenting an oral' and read it through.

      Step b) Create a new word document. 

      Step c) On the top of the word document write, 'Oral Presentation - Holocaust', add your name and immediately copy and paste your journal entry onto the document. This is the start of your oral presentation.  

      Step d) Following the structure provided on the attached pdf that you have read, complete your oral presentation, providing information on the following:

- Define the Holocaust.
- Define 'The Final Solution'.
- Explain Hitler`s motives.
- Define who Hitler aimed to remove.
- Explain how many people where killed.
- Describe the conditions of the camps. 
- Tell any interesting facts or information that you find. 
- Explain why you think it is important that we remember the Holocaust.
- Provide images or YouTube clips to support your information. 


      Step e) Research the following sites for all the information required to answer the above questions:
