--Job Number Three--

Your band needs to purchase a vehicle before you can start your tour. There are a few things to consider when making this choice.
Tony suggests:
1
. Split the remaining money between the vehicle purchase and the tour costs.
2. Purchase an expensive vehicle and make a smaller tour.
3. Purchase a cheap vehicle and make a big tour.

Touring Vehicles Resources:

1. Use The Shopper that is provided for your team.

2. Vehicles on EBAY (all vehicles purchased on EBAY must be a BUY IT NOW price!!):

Buses

RV’s

Van/Box Trucks

3. Use The Auto Locator website

--Job Four--

Tony say's you need to hire someone to drive the tour vehicle. Select a drive below. Be sure to read about each driver. Use a calculator to figure out the cost for a two month tour.

Name Price Wishes
Timothy Nickleworth $8,000 per month I am allergic to saltwater. My doctor says I can only make two stops within 200 miles of any saltwater.
Lisa Adeline Blubberstat $1,5000 per week My husband and two sons always ride with me. You must have a vehicle that fits everyone.
Amy Theodora Fuddlewater
$60 per day My pyschologist says I can only drive every three days.
Kevin Snodspear
$9.50 per hour/ 9 hours per day/ 5 days per week My license forbids me to drive in West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennesee , Nevada, and Nebraska.
Chester Stinkwater $5,000 per month I refuse to drive through any state that starts with a vowel, Example: "Ohio"
Barbara Bladderstop $2,000 per month I don't like driving RV's.
Shotgun Betsy $45 per day I think all bands should have a backup drumset or bongo drums. I won't drive anyone who doesn't have one of these!
Daniel Dirtfarmer $15,000 per two months I'm afraid of capital cities. I will only stop at two.
Mama Rhymes $2,500 per two weeks I love big cities, my bus has to stop in New York City (NY), Los Angeles (CA), Chicago (IL), and Houston (TX).

--Job Five--

The last job is to plan your tour stops.
Mile Log

Using the USA map, plot out the tour. The piece of string included with the map is used for measuring the miles between cities.

Requirments:

1. The band must play one show in Florida, Texas, and California

2. The band cannot travel through more than two states in a day.

3. Tony will not let the band play everyday. You must have a day between concerts.

4. All drivers will only travel a maximum of 10,000 miles total for the tour.

Extra Credit Problem:

Using the total miles of the tour, and assuming your vehicle gets around 15 miles per gallon of gas, and the average gas price is 2.80 per gallon could you figure out your gas cost?
