HOW DO I GET MY WEBQUEST PUBLISHED ON ZUNAL.COM

As soon as you create an account at zunal.com, your pages will automatically be created for you and the web address for public access will be given in the bottom of the page. However, your WebQuest will not be available to visitors until you complete your WebQuest and submit for publication. When you completed all sections of your Webquest, and you would like to make it available to the world, you need submit your WebQuest for publication. Fortunately, publishing your Webquest is a click away (see publish button on your menu).

Some Tips before Publishing your WebQuest

  • Complete all of the sections of your WebQuest including Teachers Page!
  • Some people try to publish it first then complete the WebQuest. Not a good idea!
  • Do not use Colored Text in your WebQuest. It does not make your WebQuest any better!
  • Do not just insert one sentence for each section and expect to be published as "Completed & Fetured". It will be REJECTED.
  • Do not insert your photo on Teachers Page. Teachers Page is not about you! It is about providing beneficial information to teachers who would like to use your WebQuest. Your Photo goes in the page called "About"
  • Spell Check your pages. Make it professional!
  • Do not copy paste text from other websites directly. The text you copy also brings other web elements. It needs to be cleaned up. Place it on Notepad first then paste it in your webquest.
  • Publishing your WebQuest is REQUIRED for visitors to see!
  • Do not use very large TEXT Most of the people are not blind! They read newspapers with 8pixel font size, even kids!.

Frequently asked questions

  • How long do I need to wait once I submit my WebQuest for publication? Your webquest will be published immediately regardless of your choice. However, if you select option 2, zunal.com will review your WebQuest for approval to be also featured at the homepage of zunal.com. The review will take up to 48 hours.
  • If I selected option2, how will I know if my WebQuest Featured? Once you submit your Webquest to be featured (option 2), you need to check the status by logging on your Webquest within 48 hours. It will automatically tell you the new status of your Webquest under the Publish button. (accepted or rejected to be featured)
  • How do you review WebQuests for Option2 ("Completion and Featured")? Well, Dr. Bernie Dodge (the founder of the WebQuest idea) has created a rubric for evaluating Webquests and we use that rubric to help us decide on whether the submitted Webquest qualifies for publication or not. The rubric is public and available at http://webquest.sdsu.edu/webquestrubric.html . Therefore, before submitting your Webquest for "COMPLETION & FEATURED", we kindly ask you to review the rubric yourself to see if the work you created qualifies for publication. If you are creating your webquest for a requirement of a course, ASK YOUR INSTRUCTOR TO GIVE YOU FEEDBACK ON YOUR WEBQUEST! DO NOT BE SHY! IF THEY REQUIRE YOU AN ASSIGNMENT, THEY WILL GIVE YOU FEEDBACK ON IT. Kindly ask him/her that what other things you need to do in order to improve your webquest and get it published as Featured. We use only the rubric given above when evaluating Webquest! Remember, we do not make our decision on the base of race, color, sex, and national origin, religion or any of the other information when qualifying a webquest.
  • What happens if REJECTED to be FEATURED? The features of Option 1 will automatically apply to your WebQuest (see above).
  • Will I get feedback? No. We receive tens of publication requests a day. It would take forever to write a personal feedback for each Webquest.
  • I submitted using Option and it was rejected. However, I fixed it and I want to submit again. Can I submit it again once I fix it? Of course you can. But this time, you need to email to admin@zunal.com for your request
  • Any Other Questions? Please submit any other questions on our Discussion Forum.
