One member of your team will become an expert on what a SWOT analysis is, but your whole group will need to conference to determine what your "SWOT's" are.

The Basics
A SWOT analysis is an evaluation of the INTERNTAL and EXTERNAL factors that will be advantageous or challenge your business.

Strengths- INTERNAL
Weaknesses-INTERNAL
Opportunities- EXTERNAL
Threats- EXTERNAL

Step 1: Read through these sites to determine what a SWOT Analysis is;

Step 2: Look at some SWOT examples from various industries - Retail, Timber,  Department, Web

Deliverables;

-Fill in the SWOT Analysis chart attached below to analyze the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities & Threats of your venture. This analysis is a framework for reviewing the strategy, position and direction of your business proposition.

-Write a brief paragraph about what a SWOT analysis and the importance it has on the organization. Include references and cite sources using MLA reference formatting.

Include this in your SWOT Analysis Section of your Venture Plan Binder.
