In many communities the plight of the homeless is an issue that causes concern to a range of groups. Many groups and individuals have very different ideas about how the problems should be solved.

You are going to investigate the conflicting values around this issue and recommend a solution.

Activity 2: 
• What other information would you need to make a more informed judgement about the housing issue in Marlin?
• What other individuals in the community do you think should have been asked for their opinions?
• What comments can you make about the locals interviewed?
• In considering your response to the community responsibility of the homeless, you may need to explore a number of perspectives on the issue. The way issues and conflicts are investigated and reported can influence how the audience responds.
