Holocaust: Nightmare or Necessity?

Today in class, you had the chance to hear the story of Bernard Scheer. You can hear his story and that of another child survivor in the link and video below.

Mr. Scheer shared with us stories from his own life, things he did and survived. For many of us, the information in our textbook resembles a script for a new horror film. It is beyond our grasp to understand how this could actually occur but occur it did.
With your group, select a person from the ID Cards. Read your persons story. We will be doing a circle writing activity in class for this. You will have 2 minutes to begin your survival plan. After 2 minutes, you will pass counter clockwise to your classmate. They will have 20 seconds to view what you wrote and then will be given 2 minutes to continue the plan. We will continue in this fashion until all 4 of you have had a chance to write. The last person to write will complete the story. For this exercise you will be writing a third person narrative in the first person. Translation: you will be writing as if you were the person you choose and sharing your plan for survival of the Holocaust based upon the information you read and the details you have learned to date. Please note, your person cannot die until the end and your story must be historical fiction in nature. No science fiction or fantasy will be accepted.

Your homework tonight is to add your completed writing assignment to your Schoology blog. Please include the names of your co-writers in the authorship.
