Use your booklet to explain the water cycle to someone at home, not a pet. Please have them sign and add comments on the last page.
Anticipatory Set: “What happens to the parking lot when it rains hard?” (puddles) “Where does the water in the puddles go when the sun comes out?”
Ask students what they know about the water cycle (KWL)

Guided Practice
Cloze Activity - Students have their choice of completing a cloze activity either on PCs or by hand. When the pages are completed, they will make a Water Cycle Vocabulary Booklet with the pages of the activity.
Independent Practice:
Students will make a talking avatar (Voki.com) to explain the water cycle.
Assessment:
Ongoing assessment will be based on the correct completion of the water cycle vocabulary booklets, and the student's Voki avatar explanation of the water cycle. (www.voki.com)
Ongoing assessment data will also be collected by asking students open ended questions throughout the lesson, such as, “What do you think happens to the snow when the weather warms up?” “After it rains, where does the water in the puddles go?” “Why do you think rain clouds are dark?”
Anticipatory Set: What are the major elements that cause weather changes?

· Students reflect on the importance of the elements that cause weather changes
